On Friday, August 22, Australia locked horns against South Africa in the 2nd of the three-match series. The visitors, batting first, put 277 runs on the board, courtesy of fifty-plus scores from Breetzke and Tristan Stubbs.
In reply, the hosts got off to the worst possible start as they lost three early wickets. Skipper Mitchell Marsh failed to replicate his 1st ODI's heroics. Wiaan Mulder got rid of Marsh and sent the skipper back to the pavilion with a low score of 18 (25), which featured four boundaries.
Wiaan Mulder Escapes Major Injury
Talking about Mulder, the right-arm seamer took a wicket, but also hogged the internet after he suffered a nasty fall. Notably, on the first ball of the 10th over, Mulder had a scary fall and slipped during his run-up.
Mulder avoided serious injuries and got back up on his feet. On the next delivery, Mulder got rid of Marsh and sent the Australia skipper back into the dugout. Luckily for Mulder, he could have done a lot of damage to his knee, but escaped unhurt from the fall. Watch the video here.
Wiaan Mulder Having A Great Show In The 2nd ODI
Wiaan Mulder is having a great day as he contributed 26 (21) in the ongoing ODI and has also taken a wicket. Meanwhile, He also scored 31 runs in the first ODI, but couldn't bowl as other players rattled Australia's batting order to secure a 98-run win.
South Africa are eyeing history as a win would help them seal the series and Wiaan Mulder will have a great role in that.
