Cricket South Africa (CSA) has confirmed the competition window for the next three editions of SA20. Currently into its third edition, the SA20 2025 season launched on January 9 and will run until February 8 to follow its traditional timeframe.

However, as per the latest development, the next edition of SA20 will start from ‘Boxing Day’ later this year. The aforementioned move was likely formulated by CSA in a bid to avoid coinciding with next year’s 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, scheduled to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

CSA confirm SA20 window for 2026, 2027 and 2028

CSA has confirmed that the next edition of the SA20 season will launch from December 26 onwards later this year and will run until January 26 next year. Going away from the traditional SA20 window, the 2026 season of the tournament would start couple of weeks earlier in a bid to give competing players a breathing space for February’s 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

The SA20 will revert back to its original slot of January 9 in each of the subsequent two editions in 2027 and 2028.
