Joburg Super Kings captain Faf du Plessis displayed his sublime power-hitting skills in the SA20 2025 game against Paarl Royals. He smacked Dayyaan Galiem to two back-to-back sixes and accumulated a total of 21 runs off his 4th over.

The SA20 2025 is nearing its business end of things and Joburg Super Kings faced Paarl Royals in the 26th game. The Royals had batted first but managed to put only 150 runs on the board. Dinesh Karthik was a lone warrior with gritty 53 off 39 balls.

However, Joburg’s captain Faf du Plessis showed no mercy at all in the second inning. He stitched a 76-run partnership with Leus du Plooy to accelerate the team’s chase.

Faf du Plessis smoked towering sixes in an entertaining SA20 clash

Faf du Plessis got going in the powerplay to maximise the field restrictions. Dayyaan Galiem was summoned to bowl the 4th over but du Plessis unleashed absolute carnage.

The bowler started off by bowling a back-of-a-length delivery around the off stump. Du Plessis opened up his hips with impeccable timing and confidence, clearing his front leg and unleashing a monstrous slog over the boundary for midwicket.

The ball travelled high and the connection was so sweet that the moment it left his bat, the result of a maximum was inevitable.

Galiem tried to short-of-length delivery just outside off in the very next delivery, hoping to cramp du Plessis for room. The experienced batter had other ideas, though.

Without even bothering to watch where the ball was headed, Faf du Plessis pulled with immense power, sending the ball soaring over the midwicket fence once again.

He finished with 87 off 55 balls to power Joburg Super Kings to a dominant seven-wicket victory in 17.5 overs. That victory helped the Super Kings move to third place in the points table with 19 points in 9 games.
