County Championship Division-Two Match 2022 Previews

The four-day cricket action resumes with a total of six County Clubs engaging in three exhilarating County Championship Division-Two matches, starting Monday, September 5. Here are the details on how things have panned out for the teams so far.  

Derbyshire vs Durham 

Derbyshire will be hosting Durham at home in the first match of the County Championship Division-Two. The Falcons have had an average outing so far in the competition, winning three, losing two and drawing a total of six matches. They are presently ranked fourth in the points table with 155 points in their kitty.

Speaking of Durham, they have won just one of their 10 fixtures and lost two while seven of them ended in a draw. With 125 points in their account, they are currently languishing at the bottom half of the table. 

Glamorgan vs Worcestershire 

Worcestershire will take a stiff challenge against Glamorgan in the third match of the County Division-Two at Cardiff. Glamorgan, with five wins, two losses and three drawn games currently sit in third place in the table with 160 points – just five behind second-placed Middlesex. 

Worcestershire, on the other hand, have won three games, lost as many while four of their fixtures ended in draws. Currently, they find themselves placed fifth in the Division-Two standings.

Nottinghamshire vs Leicestershire 

The Iconic Trent Bridge will host the encounter between the league leaders Nottinghamshire and bottom-placed Leicestershire. The former of the two have been the team to beat in the competition. With six wins, one loss and four drawn fixtures, the Notts are well on course for a top-two finish. 

Leicestershire, on the other hand, are yet to taste success in the 2022 edition of County Championship. They have so far played 10 matches, of which they have lost six while four of them finished in a draw. Moving forward in the competition they have nothing at stake but their pride.
