Indian stalwart Virat Kohli has called for preparing pitches for the T20I format, which provides equal opportunities for bowlers and batters.

Kohli put forward his suggestion following India's clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 on Sunday in Dubai. The match witnessed India getting a strong start, but the Pakistan spinners fought back hard to bring the team back into the contest.

Although India scored 181, the Pakistan batters chased down the target in the last over.

In this regard, the 33-year-old thinks the cricket fans want the games to have big scores, but not at the cost of the flat track, but rather a pitch conducive for bowlers as well.

"I liked the pitch tonight and I hope it remains the same going ahead, you see you want T20 games to be high scoring, teams scoring big runs and its bowlers who hold the composure, in the end, to help their side win."

Tough road ahead for India in Asia Cup 2022

After a loss to Pakistan in the Super-four opener, the path to the Finals has become tricky for the Indian team. This is due to the fact of the other two teams, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan possessing an ability to cause a major upset in the tournament.

The Men in Blue will face the stern challenge of Sri Lanka in a must-win fixture on Tuesday. On the other hand, the Dasun Shanaka-led side will be upbeat after securing a thumping victory against Afghanistan in their latest outing.
