County Championship Division-One Match Previews

The red-ball action returns in England following a successful month of Royal London Cup cricket. Here are the details you need to harbour before diving into the remaining phase of County Championship 2022. 

Lancashire vs Yorkshire 

In the first fixture of County Division-One, Lancashire will take on Yorkshire at Emirates Old Trafford. While the Red Rose has won five of 11 games so far and is embracing the third position in Division One standings, the White Rose – with just one win, three losses, and six drawn games is placed sixth.


Somerset vs Gloucestershire 

Somerset will host Gloucestershire in the second match of the County Championship Division One. Both teams are currently lurking at the bottom half of the table. While Somerset is placed ninth in the Division One table with 99 points from 10 games, Gloucestershire is reeling at the tenth spot with 62 points from 11 matches. 


Kent vs Essex 

Kent will greet Essex in the third match of the County Championship Division One. The visitors have fared well in the competition so far. They have won four, drawn as many, and lost two out of the 10 fixtures and are currently sitting at the fourth position in the championship standings. Kent, meanwhile, hasn't found much success in the red-ball format, having won just two of their 11 games. They have lost four while five of their games ended in a draw. 


Hampshire vs Northamptonshire 

Hampshire has got the most wins under its belt in the competition. They are currently sitting at second place on the points table with 193 points, just 16 behind the table toppers Surrey. As for Northamptonshire, the team is currently placed fifth in Division One table, with two wins, as many losses, and six drawn games.
