During the IPL 2025 match on May 19 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), things got heated on the field after a dramatic moment between two players.

Abhishek Sharma, who was playing brilliantly for SRH, had scored a blazing 59 runs off just 20 balls. He was in top form, hitting big shots and helping his team chase a big target of 206 runs. Along with Ishan Kishan, he had taken SRH to 98 runs in just seven overs.

But then came a turning point. LSG's spinner Digvesh Rathi managed to get Abhishek out when he mistimed a shot and was caught by Shardul Thakur. After taking the wicket, Rathi celebrated by doing his signature "notebook celebration"; a gesture that looked like he was writing something down in a notebook, possibly mocking the batsman.

This celebration didn’t sit well with Abhishek. As he was walking back to the pavilion, he turned around, came towards Rathi, and angrily said:

"Teri choti pakad ke maarunga," which roughly translates to “I’ll grab your hair and hit you.”

The situation got tense quickly, but the on-field umpire stepped in and calmed things down before it could get worse. The umpire also had a long chat with Digvesh Rathi after the incident.

Despite the drama, SRH went on to win the match by six wickets. Heinrich Klaasen and Kamindu Mendis helped finish the game after Abhishek’s explosive start. This loss meant LSG was officially out of the race for the IPL playoffs.

It is important to note that Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi have been fined for the on-field verbal spat. Rathi has also been banned for one match following his third Level 1 breach of the IPL Code of Conduct.
