After much discussions, the highly-anticipated Champions Trophy is all set to take over from 19 February onwards. Fans all over the world eagerly await there favourite teams to clash with one another in this International Cricket Council's (ICC) mega-event slated to take place in a hybrid model in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates (UAE).

When Will BCCI Announce Squad For Champions Trophy?

In latest development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to unveil India’s squad on January 11, 2025 just a day prior to the deadline set by the ICC. All the participating nations are expected to submit their final squads by January 12.

Despite there recent performances, India enters the tournament with high expectations and as favourites, particularly following their triumphant victory in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. While there has been much discussions about which player should be included in the team, several players who have been performing well domestically are expected to be called up especially Shreyas Iyer.

Bumrah's Injury Scare Puts A Big Question

Meanwhile, after a recent scare in India versus Australia's final Test match at the Sydney Cricket Ground, tensions rose for the visitors as their frontline pacer Jasprit Bumrah was forced to go off the field and straight to the hospital following a back spasm. Bumrah, who impressed with his phenomenal spell against the Aussies where he bagged 32 wickets from just five games, is one of the most valuable player for the Indian side.

However, there is no update whether Bumrah would be a fit enough to be a part of the team. Nevertheless, if the fate does not align for Bumrah to be a part of the team it remains to be seen whether there will be any surprises.
