The tussle and the mystery around Champions Trophy 2025 has engulfed the cricketing world for more than a year now, and with just a few months left for the scheduled start of the tournament, the problems and debates are still catching fire. PCB recently accepted a hybrid model for Champions Trophy with a condition that all India-Pakistan matches should have similar arrangements in place for future ICC tournaments.

According to RevSportz, PCB wants Dubai to host all India-Pakistan matches in ICC tournaments atleast for next three years. However, BCCI has rejected the proposal which PCB has termed as a partnership model. BCCI's stand is that there are no security problems in India, so there is no logic in playing matches outside India.

PCB To Demand More Financial Incentives From ICC

The situation has created another deadlock after it seemed that the issue is finally getting resolved between the two powerhouses of Asian cricket. According to the report, PCB is also planning to demand more financial incentives from ICC apart from the hosting fees which is likely to go around $65 million. PCB also are trying to get a bigger share in ICC's total projected earnings for the 2024-27 cycle.

The last edition of Champions Trophy was played in 2017 which Pakistan won in England. ICC has decided to bring back the tournament after eight years, and the tentative scheduled revealed few months back had all India matches in Lahore with tournament running from February 19 to March 9. India are now likely to play their games in Dubai while the semifinal and final will also be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium if the hybrid model is accepted by all boards and the partnership model deadlock is resolved.
