The Global Super League 2024 is up and running in style, and in the seventh match of the season, Lahore Qalandars took on Victoria. It was a low-scoring encounter with the momentum swinging from one team to another, but it was the team from Pakistan that finally won the game by 10 runs.
However, the Victorian unit also tried their best and Lahore Qalandars were bowled out for just 139. They were looking good for a lot more at one point in time, but three wickets on cosecutive balls between two different overs hamepered their momentum. Lahore Qalandars were 128-4 in the 18th over and on the fifth ball of the over, Jackson Smith bowled a nice yorker on middle and leg. Mohammad Akhlaq tried to scoop it by going across to his right, but missed it altogether and the ball shattered the stumps.

On the next ball, Carlos Brathwaite, the skipper of the side was sent back for a golden duck. It was a back-of-a-length delivery, on middle and leg, and the big Caribbean batter went for a wild swing. He missed, and the ball knocked over the stumps. In the next over, on the first ball itself, Dominic Drakes got the better of Tom Abell off a full toss on leg. The batter tried to hit it over mid off, but mistimed it completely and Clarke took an easy catch inside the ring.
Eventually, Lahore Qalandars were cleaned up for 139. In reply, Victoria got off to a decent start, but lost the way in the middle over and ended up getting knocked over for 129 with Asif Afridi and Tabraiz Shamsi picking three wickets apiece.
