The month of November has been great for Indian cricket as the nation welcomed two different batches of the world champions. After India Women secured their maiden ODI World Cup trophy, the India Blind Women’s side secured the first-ever Blind T20 World Cup.
Keeping all the odds aside, eleven tigresses made India proud, and the nation can’t stop hailing them. But the side got a chance to meet the legend, Sachin Tendulkar, making their victory even more special.
India Blind Women’s side meets Master Blaster
As it says, no odds can stop an individual from chasing glory, India's blind women’s side proved the fact correct. Being a special side of the game of cricket, they touched a special glory, winning the first-ever Blind T20 World Cup for India. Those brave souls made the nation proud as the entire country came together to praise their achievements.
After having an exceptional outing throughout the tournament, they defeated Nepal Women in the final match and secured the trophy with a convincing 7-wicket victory. Days after their historic achievement, they finally got a chance to meet the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar.
The meeting was special indeed, and Tendulkar’s heartfelt praise added a special touch to it. Meeting them at the MIG Cricket Club in Mumbai, he spent a long time with the champions and hailed them for their fighting spirit. In that nearly one-hour conversation, the players shared their journey as Sachin said their achievement will be a forever glory in Indian cricket.
India Captain opens up on an emotional moment
For any budding cricketer in India, meeting Sachin Tendulkar is a once-in-a-lifetime dream, and only a rare few get to live that moment. After meeting the Master Blaster, the blind side was beyond happy as the Indian captain Deepika TC called it a ‘dream come true’.
“Meeting Sachin sir was like a dream come true. We have always played with passion and belief, but hearing words of encouragement from him has touched our hearts deeply. This moment will stay with us for life and will motivate us to work even harder and carry Indian cricket to greater heights,” she said.
Winning the World Cup is always the proudest moment for any team, but the moment becomes a forever inspiration with some special stories of redemption. Defying society’s limits, the Indian Blind Women’s team proved that passion outshines obstacles and courage has the final say.
