Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah has dropped a bombshell as he has just confirmed that one of India's premium pacers is set to make a return to the Indian team against Australia.

Jay Shah revealed that after missing crucial cricketing months due to a surgery on his Achilles tendon last year and then recovery at National Cricket Academy, Mohammed Shami will be seen back in action when India travels to Australia later this year in November.

"Mohammad Shami will be there in Australia because he is experienced, and we need him in Australia", he stated.

Meanwhile, reports are circulating that  India's star bowler Mohammed Shami, the speedster, might be unable to participate in the crucial Bangladesh Test series scheduled in September. 

As per the directives of Jay Shah, any player who has been out of cricket will have to prove their form and fitness in domestic cricket to earn a spot back in the national team. With that in mind, Shami is expected to return by playing for Bengali in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. 

Shami who last played for India at the 2023 World Cup final against Australia, was spotted training hard at the NCA.
