Bumrah at Final Stage of Rehab, Pant Has Started to Bat: BCCI Medical Update

In an encouraging news for the Indian team and their fans, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has issued a medical and fitness updates on five players, who are currently doing their rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

These five players include - Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant.


BCCI Medical updates

As per a BCCI press release, Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna are at the final stage of their rehab and have started to bowl at the nets in full intensity. Moreover, the duo will play a couple of practice games at the NCA, and following that assessment will be done regarding the final progress of the two players.

Two of India's batting mainstay, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer have resumed batting at nets and are going through a vigorous strength and fitness drills. As per the BCCI medical team, the progress is going good and the intensity of the training will be increased in the upcoming week.

Rishabh Pant, who has been out of action for the last 6 months due to an unfortunate accident, has also resumed batting at NCA. Interestingly, he has started keeping practice, and has been following the fitness programme designed to increase strength and flexibility.

In all likelihood, Bumrah will be included in the Ireland T20I series, if things go according to plans. Keeping in mind the World Cup 2023, the team management will be hoping that KL Rahul recovers in time for a selection in the Asia Cup 2023.
