In an important update, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allowed nine Pakistan players to take part in the 2025–26 season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). This permission, known as a No Objection Certificate (NOC), was issued on Wednesday.
Nine players granted NOCs for upcoming BPL
According to the latest list shared by the PCB, the players who received NOCs include Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, and Sahibzada Farhan. The board has also approved Hussain Talat, Ihsanullah, Haider Ali, Abrar Ahmed, Khawaja Nafay, and Salman Irshad. This development was reported by Geo Super.
The upcoming BPL season will begin on December 26, 2025, and will run until January 24, 2026. Several Pakistan players were already signed directly by BPL teams, including Saim Ayub, Mohammad Amir, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Khan, Khawaja Nafay, Khushdil Shah, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Nawaz, Sufiyan Muqeem, Akif Javed, and Sahibzada Farhan.
Meanwhile, four other Pakistan players were picked during the BPL auction held on November 30 in Dhaka. The NOCs issued by the PCB will remain valid until January 23, 2026, allowing the players to take part in almost the full duration of the league.
This season of the BPL will feature five teams, fewer than the seven teams that participated last year. Dhaka Capitals and Rangpur Riders will continue, while three teams, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet, have changed ownership and been rebranded as Chattogram Royals, Rajshahi Warriors, and Sylhet Titans.
Last season’s champions, Fortune Barishal, along with Khulna Tigers, will not be part of the tournament this time.
Notably, the 2025–26 BPL will include 34 matches, covering the league stage and all playoff games such as Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final.
Originally planned for early 2026, the tournament was moved to the December–January window due to Bangladesh’s general elections and the scheduling of the ICC T20 World Cup.
