The day is here that every women cricketer in the country aspired and dreamt of. It is time for the Women's World Cup 2025 final, where India, who will be featuring in their 3rd final, will lock horns against South Africa at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

The women's side have never won the trophy in the history of the game and are just a win away from clinching one. The fans are excited, and so is the entire nation, which is proud of the girls who have shown tremendous effort in this 50-over event. Meanwhile, the BCCI is also planning something special, and reports suggest that the apex cricket board of India is mulling to heavily reward the cricketers financially if they win the trophy.

BCCI wants to match prize money of T20 World Cup winning team

According to a report from PTI, the BCCI is planning to give a 125 crore cash prize to the Indian women's squad if they beat South Africa in the final. For years now, the board has pushed for equal pay in men's and women's cricket, and the board doesn't want to stay behind when it comes to rewarding cricketers for their hard work.

Notably, the board had also presented the Rohit Sharma-led side with a 125 crore cash prize after they ended the ICC trophy drought and brought the T20 World Cup 2024 title home. Thus, the board is looking to do the same with Indian women cricketers.

“The BCCI supports equal pay for men and women, and hence there are discussions that if our girls win the World Cup, the reward won’t be anything less compared to the men’s global triumph,” a senior board official told PTI on condition of anonymity.

Even if the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side fails to get across the fence, the board is looking to reward them financially for their efforts. Although, the amount is not disclosed. Notably, the board had presented 50 lakhs to each cricketer after India lost the 2017 World Cup by nine runs against England.
