In a recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the dates of the upcoming home season, consisting of the white-ball clashes against Australia and South Africa.
"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Wednesday announced the schedule for the upcoming Australia and South Africa’s tour of India. India’s international home season 2022-23 will commence with a three-match T20I series against Australia on September 20 and will be followed by a three-match T20I and ODI series against South Africa," BCCI stated in the media release.
Beginning with the T20I series between India and Australia, the two teams will lock horns in three bilateral fixtures, scheduled from 20th to 25th September. The three-match series will be played in Mohali, Nagpur and Hyderabad on September 20, September 23 and September 25, respectively.
After the culmination of the Aussie challenge, South Africa will tour India for the second time this year. The tour comprises three T20Is and as many ODI matches.
While the T20 leg will be played in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati and Indore on September 28, October 2 and October 4, the ODI series will begin in Lucknow on October 6 and will run till October 11, with the final affair scheduled in Delhi.
As the home season marks its end, the Indian contingent will fly to Australia for the T20 World Cup 2022.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma's men are standing 2-1 up in the ongoing five-match T20I series against the West Indies.
