In a notable development ahead of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024, Bangladesh ace-allrounder Shakib al Hasan has officially enlisted for the PSL 9 Draft. The draft, tentatively slated for mid-December, will follow the conclusion of Pakistan's National T20.

The southpaw, who previously played for Peshawar Zalmi in the 2017 championship-winning season and the last edition, has emerged as the sole Bangladeshi cricketer in the prestigious platinum category, commanding a base price of 1.3 lakh US dollars.

The draft pool boasts 493 foreign players, including 28 from Bangladesh. Noteworthy among them are Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, and Taskin Ahmed, placed in the diamond category with a base price of 60 thousand dollars.

Shakib, known for his dynamic all-round performances, has participated in 13 PSL matches to date, accumulating 181 runs at an average of 16.45 and claiming eight wickets.

This announcement was made by PSL authorities through their X account, confirming Shakib's participation and marking a significant addition to the league's star-studded lineup. The ninth edition of the PSL is scheduled from February 13 to March 3, 2024, with the auction potentially set for December 14.

Despite his cricket commitments, Shakib is currently engaged in national elections, having submitted nomination papers for three constituencies.
