In a big development related to the Asia Cup 2025, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the 25-member preliminary squad for the Asia Cup 2025. The squad, as confirmed by Cricbuzz, has Litton Das as captain and consists of a good blend of youth and experience.

One of the notable inclusions is of Nurul Hasan, the wicketkeeper batter who last played for a T20I game for Bangladesh in 2022. Also, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Soumya Sarkar, who were not part of the Pakistan series, have also been included. Apart from these big names, the bulk of the side consists of players who were part of Bangladesh's squad in the T20I series against Pakistan.

Before the start of the Asia Cup, Bangladesh are likely to play a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands. Also, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has arranged a skills camp for their top cricketers, which will begin at the SBNCS in Mirpur on August 15, while it will move to Sylhet from August 20.

However, the likes of Nurul Hasan, Mahidul Islam, Saif Hassan, Hasab Mahmud and Naim Sheikh would not be available for the majority of the preparation camp due to their selection on the A tour of Australia. On the other hand, other available players will report for a fitness camp at SBNCS in Mirpur on August 6.
