Hubli Tigers beat Mangalore United by 6 wickets in Match 30th of the Maharaja T20 League at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It was a must win game for both the sides and the Tigers got the better of United.

Sisodia-Taha got off to a flying start. 

Chasing a stiff target of 185 in a must-win game, captain Luvnith Sisodia and Mohammed Taha got the Hubli Tigers off to a great start. Sisodia was brutal and destructive as he completed his half-century in just 20 balls inside the powerplay. He added 88 runs for the first wicket with Taha who got out after scoring 34 runs off just 20 balls.

Following the wicket of Taha, Sisodia was joined by Shivakumar and added another 64 runs for the second wicket which killed the game completely for Mangalore United. Sisodia departed after a match-winning 80 runs off 40 balls.

The Tigers chased down 185 with 13 balls remaining and qualified for the playoffs of the Maharaj T20 League 2022 in style.

Earlier, Hubli Tigers won the toss and opted to bowl first. After being asked to bat first, Mangalore United got off to a good start, scoring 55 runs in the powerplay, after losing one of their openers Raghuveer Pavalur early in the powerplay.

R Samarth and Amit Verma added 69 runs for the second wicket, before Samarth got bowled by Shivakumar at 31 runs off 26 balls. Verma was looking solid but missed his half century and departed at 47 off 34 balls.

United were 99 for four and were in a spot of bother at the end of 13 overs. But Abhinav Manohar as usual came to the rescue. He ended the innings with three consecutive sixes in the last over and remained unbeaten at 69 runs off just 30 balls. United were 184 for 5 at the end of 20 overs.

From the Hubli Tigers’ point of view, BU Shivakumar gave 28 runs and took one wicket. Gneshwar Naveen took 2 for 22 in three overs.
