Sanjay Bangar believes life will repay the efforts made by Indian legend Virat Kohli throughout ICC World Cup 2023 and he would reclaim world cricket's biggest crown at some stage in future. The former India batting coach reckoned the stalwart Indian No.3 will earn his just rewards in future for an excellent run in the tournament.

Despite performing to his level best and amassing a whopping 765 runs in 11 innings with three exceptional centuries, Kohli ended with a heartbreaking loss in the final of the marquee competition against arch-rivals Australia in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19).

There was a sense of disappointment and despair on the face of the modern maestro even as he received his 'Player of the Tournament' title at the podium, realising that the bigger prize that would've warmed the hearts of over billion Indian fans had just slipped his grasp once again.

Bangar Backs Kohli To Lift World Cup In Future

For Bangar, it was a reminder of watching the greatest Sachin Tendulkar receive his 'Player of the Tournament' trophy at the 2003 edition of the World Cup in South Africa with a dispirited expression on his face. The ex-India cricketer said, however, there could be a moment in times to come for Kohli when he is rewarded with 2011 like amends for Tendulkar.

If Kohli, who was part of the 2011 side with Tendulkar, is to have his swansong moment like his inspiration, he will have to reach there in the very next attempt while retaining his unmatched performance and fitness standards.

"I don't know why God tests great players. But I feel that as big a player as Virat Kohli is, God must have planned something very big and beautiful for him. Sachin Tendulkar won the Trophy in his 6th World Cup, so hope God planned something Beautiful for Virat," Bangar told Star Sports.

As things stand, Kohli aged 35 has most probably just one more men's 50-over World Cup left in his tank. The esteemed cricketer will be 39 if and when he turns up for the next edition of the quadrennial event in 2027 in South Africa.
