After a stellar show in the Test series against South Africa, a lot was expected of Babar Azam in the first Test Vs West Indies. However, the ever-reliable batter had twin failures in the Multan Test and it affected his Test rankings as well. Prior to the first Test, Babar was at the 12th position, however his failures against the Windies pacer meant that the star Pakistan batter sinked further down.

He slipped down four positions to number 16 in the latest ICC Test rankings and currently has 668 rating points to his name. On a pitch that was graveyard for the batters and heaven for the spinners, Babar couldn't do much as he was dismissed for just 8 runs in the first innings and the return wasn't good in the second innings as the star batter got trapped by Jomel Warrican for just 5 runs.

Luckily, the horrendous batting efforts didn't affect the result of the match as Pakistan thrashed West Indies inside 2.5 days to win the Test match.

Pakistan's spin duo rise in rankings

The heroes of the Multan Test match for Pakistan, Noman Ali and Sajid Khan have also been rewarded by ICC as they have jumped in the latest ICC Test rankings for bowlers.

Noman Ali (6 wickets) in the Multan Test has gotten into the top 10 ICC Test bowlers' rankings and has jumped two spots to 9th position, thus entering into the top-10 for the first time in his career.

On the other hand, Sajid Khan, another architect of the win in first Test witnessed a high jump in his Test rankings. He climbed 18 places from 41st to 23rd as the spinner is expected to further dominate the proceedings in the second Test Vs West Indies.
