Jacob Duffy has been crowned as No.1 bowler in the ICC Men's T20I Bowler Rankings. This is a huge achievement for the New Zealand pacer, especially considering his dominant performance against Pakistan. However, Babar Azam has slipped in batter rankings.

New Zealand are hosting Pakistan in a white-ball series and have thus far dominated the visitors. The men in green lost the T20I series by 1-4 trail and the Kiwis secured an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the two-game ODI series.

Meanwhile, Pakistan was largely dominated in all departments. However, Jacob Duffy troubled them the most which led to his rise in ICC rankings.

Jacob Duffy Announced As New T20I Bowler

ICC rolled out the latest T20I format rankings, and New Zealand pacer Jacob Duffy climbed to the top of the charts and became the No.1 bowler.

He scalped 13 wickets at a stunning average of 8.38 against Pakistan in the T20I series which helped the Black Caps clinch a commanding 4-1 series victory at home.

His remarkable form saw him overtake West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein to claim the No.1 spot, making him the first New Zealander to hold this ranking since Ish Sodhi in 2018.

Apart from Duffy, Tim Seifert also reached a career-high eighth place in the T20I batter rankings. Pakistan’s captain Mohammad Rizwan dropped out of the top 10 and is now three places behind at the 12th spot. Moreover, Babar Azam also dropped a place to rank 9th in the T20I batter rankings.

After the T20I, Pakistan Lose The ODI Series Vs NZ

New Zealand sealed the ODI series with an 84-run win over Pakistan in the 2nd match at Seddon Park. Despite Pakistan’s strong bowling start, Mitchell Hay (77) and Muhammad Abbas helped the Kiwis recover to post 293.

Jacob Duffy and Ben Sears then tore through Pakistan’s top order, reducing them to 32/5. Faheem Ashraf (73) and Naseem Shah (51) fought back, but Sears ended the resistance in the 42nd over, securing the series win for New Zealand.
