Pakistan are currently playing a limited-overs series against West Indies, which includes three T20I matches and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). During the second T20I match on August 2 in Lauderhill, Florida, something caught fans’ attention off the field.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was spotted having a serious and intense conversation with senior players Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan’s ODI captain), and fast bowler Naseem Shah.

A picture of this conversation is circulating online, leading to a lot of speculation among fans. Some are wondering if this talk could mean that Babar, Rizwan, and Naseem might be making a comeback to Pakistan’s T20 team.
While these three are still part of the ODI squad, they were left out of the current T20 series, even though they are key players in the 50-over format.

What Happened During WI vs PAK 2nd T20I?
The second T20I was a nail-biter. Pakistan chose to bat first but had a rough start, losing three wickets for just 21 runs in the first five overs. Agha Salman and Hasan Nawaz helped steady the innings for a while, but West Indies bowlers Jason Holder and Gudakesh Motie bowled brilliantly at the end. Pakistan collapsed and managed only 133 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs.
In reply, West Indies also had a shaky start. Mohammad Nawaz got rid of Alick Athanaze in the second over. Though Shai Hope and Jewel Andrew played some good shots, Hasan Nawaz took both their wickets. At the end of the Powerplay, West Indies were 34 for 2.
Then, Saim Ayub stepped in with his bowling, taking out Sherfane Rutherford and Roston Chase. Just when Pakistan looked in control, Gudakesh Motie hit some big sixes off Hasan Ali, swinging the game back toward the West Indies. However, after Motie got run out, the pressure shifted again.
With West Indies needing 36 runs from the last 3 overs, Romario Shepherd and Jason Holder managed to score 12 runs off Shaheen Afridi’s over. The match came down to the last over with 8 runs needed. Afridi got Shepherd out on the second ball, but with 3 needed off the last ball, Jason Holder hit a four to seal a thrilling 2-wicket win for West Indies.
The ODI series starts on August 8 and ends on August 12. All matches will be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
