On Wednesday, August 21, Pakistan will kickstart their Test match series against Bangladesh. Rawalpindi will host both games and ahead of the crucial WTC match, the hosts have named their playing XI.

Eyes would be on ex-skipper Babar Azam, who will bat at No.4. It is worth noting that he would be eyeing a personal record as well and is just a century runs away from joining Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in an elite list.

Currently, Babar has 3898 runs in Test cricket and requires just 102 runs to complete 4000 runs and become the third cricketer after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to reach 4000 runs in all three formats. Also, he would become the first Pakistani cricketer to achieve this feat.

Former India captain Virat Kohli was the first batter to score 4000 runs in all three formats of the game. He achieved the feat during India’s T20 World Cup 2022 semifinal match against England in Adelaide on November 10.

Indian captain Rohit joined Virat on the list during the T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Ireland in New York on June 5.

Pakistan Eyeing To Equal India's Feat As Well

The Shan Masood-led side have 148 Test wins in their history and require just 2 wins to become the sixth team to have 150 and more Test wins.
