On Wednesday, August 21, Pakistan will host Bangladesh for the first Test match at the Rawalpindi Stadium. Ahead of the crucial WTC game, the hosts have already announced their playing XI.

Much to everyone's surprise, Pakistan named no specialist spinner, which is a rare thing to see in sub-continent games. The reason is that the Rawalpindi pitch has a patch of green, and the surface will help the seamers.

Thus, this article will assess Bangladesh's squad and write the probable XI that could feature against Pakistan in the first Test.

Bangladesh's Probable XI vs Pakistan

Bangladesh have already dealt a blow as their opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy has been ruled out of the series because of injury, so they might now bring in Shadman Islam to open the innings with Zakir Hasan.

Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (WK),

Skipper Najmul Shanto's inclusion is a no-brainer, and Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim would be the two senior players in the playing XI. Mominul Haque will headline the middle order, while Litton Das will keep the wickets.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will play as Bangladesh's number eight, with Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed and Taijul Islam filling up the remaining slots. And since the surface will help the seamers, Hasan Mahmud will be the No.11.

Probable XI: Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Najmul Hossain Shanto (C), Mominul Haque, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (WK), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud
