Cricket icon Mahendra Singh Dhoni has entered a strategic partnership with digital insurance provider Acko, joining as both a brand ambassador and investor. The collaboration, facilitated through Dhoni's family office Midas Deals, aligns with his support for Acko's mission to simplify and modernise insurance for India's urban consumers.

This investment adds to Dhoni's diverse portfolio, which includes startups like Garuda Aerospace and his special collab with EMotorad. Founded in 2016, Acko serves over 100 million users with auto, health, and gadget insurance products.

MS Dhoni Opens Up On The Massive Collaboration

The former Indian captain, renowned for his love of bike and cars highlighted his personal connection to the brand.

“As an automobile enthusiast, I’ve often found insurance to be unnecessarily complicated. Acko brings clarity where there was confusion. Their tech-first, customer-centric approach reflects the way the new India wants to engage with insurance. I’m excited to support a brand that’s focused on trust and transformation,” MS Dhoni shared on the association.

Acko CEO Varun Dua welcomed Dhoni’s dual role, emphasizing shared values. “Dhoni represents everything we stand for—trust, discipline, and the ability to stay calm while reinventing the game. His presence strengthens our resolve to rewrite the playbook for insurance in India,” Dua shared.

The partnership aims to leverage MS Dhoni’s mass appeal to build trust in the often complex insurance sector, accelerating Acko’s growth in India’s digital consumer ecosystem.

This was followed by investments in fintech startup Khatabook in 2020 and food and beverage startup 7InkBrews in 2021, and home interiors brand HomeLane also in 2021, showcasing a growing interest in diverse sectors.

In 2022, Dhoni's investments included plant-based protein brand Shaka Harry and drone technology company Garuda Aerospace. In 2023, he backed content creator monetisation platform Rigi and fitness startup Tagda Raho.
