The talismanic Bangladesh all-rounder, who's broken several records in his career up till now has broken another major record.

The Asia Cup 2022 hasn't gone their way for the Bangla Tigers up till now and they will be hoping to win their clash against Sri Lanka (at the time of writing) so as to qualify for the Super Fours stage.

Bangladesh were thrashed by Afghanistan in the first match by 7 wickets.  Bangladesh were taken by surprise by the form of Najibullah Zadran, whose 43 off just 17 deliveries helped Afghanistan cruise to victory with 9 balls to spare.

Shakib achieved the feat against Sri Lanka

Shakib Al Hasan, who is the Bangla Tigers' skipper in the Tests and T20 Internationals, reached another milestone in his cricketing career as the talismanic all-rounder became only the second player to score over 6000 runs and take over 400 wickets in the shortest format of the game in Bangladesh's fixture against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022

The 35 year old southpaw has already taken 419 wickets in T20Is and breached the 6k run mark in the most innovative fashion. Shakib shuffled across to scoop Lankan pacer Chamika Karunaratne for a boundary over fine leg to cross the mark. However, the Bangladesh skipper, who is playing his 369th T20, was dismissed off a Maheesh Theekshana delivery in the 11th over after a 22-ball 24-run knock, laced with three boundaries.

There is only one player other than Shakib to have scored over 6000 runs and taken over 400 wickets and that feat belongs to Dwayne Bravo from West Indies. Bravo, playing 549 T20s, has scored 6871 runs and scalped a total of 605 wickets in T20s.
