Avesh Khan achieves an unwanted record against Hong Kong

The young speedster from Indore, who had a great IPL 2022 hasn't had the smoothest of times playing for India. Avesh Khan, who made his debut for India in the T20Is against the West Indies earlier this year, was drafted into the national side after his impressive performance in the Indian Premier League.

He was one of the brightest spots in the Lucknow Super Giants' maiden season. He took a total of 18 wickets throughout the tournament. He was also a part of the Indian squad in their home T20I series against South Africa.

Avesh now has the worst economy in a calendar year

In the match against Hong Kong in the Asia Cup 2022 on Wednesday, Avesh was tonked all around the ground by the Hong Kong batters and returned with disappointing figures of 1-53 off his four overs.

Not only that he also ended up with an unwanted record of having the worst economy for India in a Calendar year in T20Is - 9.10 (minimum twenty five overs bowled), his performance against Pakistan was also just about average.

His economy in both the games has been worrisome. Being in the side with senior and experienced players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, it’ll be a learning process for the youngster as he moves forward.
