Their investment in young talent paid off as Priyansh Arya lit up the IPL with a stunning century against CSK. But the real twist? Ravichandran Ashwin saw it coming long ago. But this time, it worked against him.

“My number one player is one that someone should take for sure. He played very well with the bat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. I am talking about Priyansh Arya. The Delhi opener was a left-handed batsman. Did you see his batting?” Ashwin said.

As the Punjab Kings stepped onto the field against the Chennai Super Kings, the day belonged to young batter Priyansh Arya. As the PBKS had a shaky start, the young opener stood tall and navigated the team towards a strong total. After smashing a 39-ball hundred, he played a knock of 103 runs in just 42 deliveries.

With that, he becomes the second fastest Indian to score an IPL ton, only behind Yusuf Pathan who scored a 37-ball century in IPL 2010. His explosive innings propelled Punjab Kings to a towering 219 runs, further cementing his place as one of the team's most dependable batters.
