The midweek IPL thrills are touching the sky as the cricket fans in India are experiencing a classic double-header day. In the thrilling evening, the Mullanpur crowd is experiencing a pure thriller as young batter Priyansh Arya’s spectacular century added extra spark in the game.
Priyansh Arya’s maiden IPL century stole the spotlight, but Ravichandran Ashwin saw it coming long ago. After the youngster created magic, Punjab Kings couldn’t agree more. Their social media post has gone viral.
Punjab Kings Agree With Ashwin’s Opinion
Stepping into a new setup, the Punjab Kings have already grabbed the attention with their dominating performance since the beginning. Their investment in young talent paid off as Priyansh Arya lit up the IPL with a stunning century against CSK. But the real twist? Ravichandran Ashwin saw it coming long ago. But this time, it worked against him.
“My number one player is one that someone should take for sure. He played very well with the bat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. I am talking about Priyansh Arya. The Delhi opener was a left-handed batsman. Did you see his batting?” Ashwin said.
After Priyansh Arya’s fireworks against Ashwin’s Chennai, the Punjab Kings had the perfect response. They shared Ashwin’s old praise with a cheeky caption: “We agree with you, Ash Anna.” That cheeky moment went viral in no time.
Priyansh Arya Shatters Records
As the Punjab Kings stepped onto the field against the Chennai Super Kings, the day belonged to young batter Priyansh Arya. As the PBKS had a shaky start, the young opener stood tall and navigated the team towards a strong total. After smashing a 39-ball hundred, he played a knock of 103 runs in just 42 deliveries.
With that, he becomes the second fastest Indian to score an IPL ton, only behind Yusuf Pathan who scored a 37-ball century in IPL 2010. His explosive innings propelled Punjab Kings to a towering 219 runs, further cementing his place as one of the team's most dependable batters.
