Ravichandran Ashwin To Play The Hundred: Report

Legendary Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will reportedly feature in next year’s The Hundred 2026 season in England, according to the Telegraph. Earlier this week, the seasoned all-rounder confirmed his retirement from IPL cricket, i.e., mere months after hanging up his boots from international cricket.

With his IPL retirement, Ravichandran Ashwin is now eligible to pursue overseas T20 leagues, as per the BCCI clause for Indian male players. A legend of IPL, the 38-year-old picked up 187 wickets in the tournament during his playing days and aggregated 833 runs with the bat.

Oval Invincibles Sign Zampa As Rashid’s Replacement For Hundred Final

The Oval Invincibles franchise has roped in Australian spinner Adam Zampa as a replacement for legendary Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan. Zampa will now be expected to turn up for the Invincibles at Lord’s on August 31 for final match of the Men’s Hundred 2025 season.

Rashid Khan played a crucial role in taking the Oval Invincibles into the finals, having picked up 12 wickets in just six innings at an average of 13.66 to emerge as the second highest wicket-taker of the tournament. Rashid is expected to join the Afghanistan team for international duties at the time of the grand Hundred finale.

Hasaranga Sidelined As SL Name Squads For ZIM T20Is, Asia Cup 2025

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced Sri Lanka squads for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe as well as for the subsequent 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE. Charith Asalanka will continue to lead Sri Lanka in both series, and he will be accompanied by fellow star performers like Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Maheesh Theekshana, Matheesha Pathirana among others.

While Wanindu Hasaranga was sidelined from the Zimbabwe tour, he has been included in Sri Lanka’s Asia Cup squad even though he is suffering from a hamstring injury.

RCB Breaks Silence Over Stampede Tragedy

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) broke its social media silence regarding the deadly stampede incident that took place outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru just a day after the franchise lifted its first-ever IPL title.

As part of the victory celebration, the RCB franchise organised a parade at the venue. However, overcrowding outside the stadium and disorganisation of the event led to a stampede that killed 11 fans and injured over 70 others.

Nearly three months after the tragedy, the RCB franchise has now addressed its fans with a moving statement.

Babar Azam Turns Down County To Save NOC From BBL

Babar Azam has reportedly declined County offers from Yorkshire and Warwickshire cricket clubs, as per Geo News. The report further indicated that the ace Pakistani batter rejected County clubs to save NOC for this year’s Big Bash League (BBL) 2025-26 season in Australia. Babar is expected to use one of his NOCs for the BBL, as he is reportedly intending to play the full season ‘Down Under’.
