Ashwell Prince steps down as Bangladesh batting coach

Bangladesh batting coach Ashwell Prince has stepped down from his post with immediate effect, confirmed Bangladesh Cricket Board chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury to Cricbuzz.

"He (Ashwell) has resigned and we have received his resignation letter," said Nizamuddin.

The former batsman who had joined Bangladesh last year will not be traveling with the side to the tour of South Africa. 

He was first signed for the series against Zimbabwe but the board decided to extend his contract till the T20 World Cup which is slated to take place later this year in Australia. 

Earlier, Ottis Gibson had also decided to not extend his contract.
