IND vs WI | 2nd ODI: KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav perform rescue operation as hosts manage 237/9

India managed to put 237/9 in 50 overs against West Indies in the second ODI of the series in Ahmedabad despite a struggling start. India were asked to bat first and the home side made one change in the final XI. KL Rahul was brought in place of Ishan Kishan but the hosts made a small tweak in the batting combination as well.

Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant opened the innings with Rohit Sharma but that didn't really work for the Indian team. While Sharma departed early in the innings, Pant along with Virat Kohli tried to steady the ship but Odean Smith struck twice in the same over to send both the batters back in the hut, leaving India struggling at 43/3.

India had two new batsmen in KL Rahul and Sutyakumar Yadav at the crease and both of them took the onus on themselves to provide the resistance.

They stitched a partnership of 91 runs before Rahul was run out for 49 off 48. SKY on the other side went on to notch up a fifty during the course.

But the visitors got them back on track with wickets at regular succession and reduced India to 226/9. Alzarri Joseph and Smith scalped a couple of wickets apiece for West Indies.
