BPL 2022: Minister Group Dhaka suffer early hiccups but end on winning podium vs Khulna Tigers

Minister Group Dhaka registered a 5-wicket win against Khulna Tigers in Sylhet during the BPL 2022 fixture. 

Chasing an easy target of 130, the Dhaka side lost a couple of early wickets and were 12/2 when Jahurul Islam and Mahmudullah joined hands to provide the resistance to the side with a partnership of 57 runs for the third wicket. 

Islam departed for 30 off 35 while Mahmudullah scored 34 off 36 before getting out when the team score read 101. Shamsur Rahman soon followed him for 25 off 14 but that didn't really affect the Dhaka side as Shuvagata Hom (18* off 9) and Azmatullah Omarzai (10* off 7) guided the side home with four balls to spare. 

Nabil Samad was the pick of the bowlers after he returned with figures of 1/10 in 4 overs. 

Earlier, in the day, the Khulna Tigers were reduced to 12/4 and were left tottering at 58/6. But Sikandar Raza tried to hold the fort from one end as he chipped in with a 50-ball 64 as the side managed to put 129/8 in 20 overs. 

Arafat Sunny and Azmatullah Omarzai bagged a couple of wickets during the course. 

"We had a close game yesterday, today as well, but thankfully we ended up on the winning side. It's good that we won this game. but we still have one more game and we have to win it. We lost a few wickets upfront. Jahurul played a very good knock," Mahmudullah said after the match.
