IPL 2022 | Sunrisers Hyderabad reveal new kit ahead of 15th season

Former IPL champions Sunrisers Hyderabad have unveiled their brand new Jersey ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

The 2016 winners took to their official Twitter account to unveil the Jersey.

"Presenting our new jersey. The #OrangeArmour for the #OrangeArmy,” SRH wrote on the micro-blogging site. The Hyderabad-based franchise has retained the combination of orange and black in their new kit.

The shirt has orange dots sprinkled on black sleeves while the neck and collar are bathed in pure black with orange dominating the lower gear.

The franchise will hope that change in jersey will bring about a change in their fortunes, which recorded an all-time low during the 14th season.

One of the most consistent sides in the history of the competition, the Sunrisers hit nadir last season as they failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since their debut back in 2013.

Poor on-field performances had a cascading effect on the dressing room as IPL-winning skipper David Warner was not only sacked midway through the campaign, he was also dumped out of the playing XI.

Ahead of the mega-auction, each franchise was given a chance to retain a maximum of 4 players. While it was widely expected that Warner wouldn't be retained, no-one thought they would miss out on a chance to retain their champion spinner, Rashid Khan.

However, as per reports, the Sunrisers wanted to retain Kane Williamson as their first pick. Nevertheless, the Orange Army named their skipper in Williamson, besides retaining the uncapped Indian duo of Abdul Samad and Umran Malik.

The total acquisition cost a total of Rs 22 Crores, which has left them with a total purse of Rs 68 Crores for the upcoming mega auction.

The auction will take place in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13.
