Ashes 2023 | Anderson Retained; Here is England's Squad For 4th Ashes Test

England have announced an unchanged 14-men squad for the upcoming 4th Ashes Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The ECB, on Monday, took to its official Twitter account to reveal the same.

Under-fire Yorkshire cricketer Jonny Bairstow has retained his spot despite a shambolic display with bat and behind the stumps in the first three Tests thus far.

And, once again, despite the growing calls for his inclusion, wicketkeeper Ben Foakes still can't find a place in the 14-member squad.

Dan Lawrence, who was brought in as a replacement for the injured Ollie Pope, has retained his place in the squad despite not featuring in the Headingley Test.

England promoted Harry Brook to No.3 in the first innings in Leeds. The move backfired substantially, and they were forced to promote Moeen Ali in the second innings in order to protect Brook, who went on to play a match-winning knock at 5.

It will be interesting to see if England include Lawrence to bat at the No3 spot for the Manchester Test.

Also, Sussex pacer Ollie Robinson has retained his place in the squad despite breaking down during the first innings of the Leeds Test.

He is unlikely to play any part in the upcoming Test, and it will be interesting to see if the hosts pick the extra pace of Joshua Tongue as his replacement or if they go back to their veteran seamer, James Anderson.

England are currently trailing 1-2 in the series, and they must win in Manchester to keep the Ashes alive.

Here is England's squad for Manchester Test:

Ben Stokes (C), Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Harry Brook, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow (WK), Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, Stuart Broad, Ollie Robinson, James Anderson, Joshua Tongue, Dan Lawrence

The 4th Ashes Test kicks off at the Emirates Old Trafford from July 19 and it is expected to be yet another cracking encounter.
