Arshdeep Singh broke through England’s top-order with an early wicket of Phil Salt in the series-opening first T20I match at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday, January 22. The speedster struck in just the third ball of his opening spell by preventing the wicketkeeper-batter from getting off the mark.

As Arshdeep Singh inches closer to completing 100 T20I wickets, here we take a look at his record at the iconic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata.

Arshdeep Singh T20 records at Eden Gardens

Arshdeep Singh has played 61 T20I matches for Team India ever since he made his international debut back in July 2022 against England in Southampton. Notably, India’s series-opener against the visiting Englishmen in January 2025 turned out to be his first T20I outing at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Arshdeep welcomed himself into India’s iconic venue by making instant impact with the new ball, getting rid of firebrand English opener Phil Salt for a three-ball duck after captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to field first.

The 25-year-old, soon to be 26, however, has played a couple of T20 matches at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata through IPL for the Punjab Kings franchise. Here we take a look at his bowling record at the Kolkata-based venue prior to India’s first T20I against England:

While Arshdeep Singh claimed just two wickets at the Eden Gardens in the IPL, it took him just a couple of overs to match the tally as an Indian international. The tearaway fast bowler dismissed both England openers in the first T20I of the series in January 2025, and also soared past Yuzvendra Chahal to become India’s most successful bowler in the format while doing so.
