India's star pacer Arshdeep Singh had a dream start to the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter final, as he cleaned up Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad with a magnificent delivery. Opening the bowling for Punjab, Arshdeep showcased remarkable skills with the new ball, rattling Punjab's top order with his razor-sharp bowling.
The incident occurred in the very first over of Maharashtra's innings after Punjab won the toss and opted to bowl first. Captain Abhishek Sharma's decision paid rich dividends to his team, as Arshdeep capitalised on the new ball to dismiss Gaikwad and draw the first blood for his team.
After conceding a boundary off his penultimate delivery, Arshdeep regained his mojo, outfoxing the stylish batter with an absolute peach. From over the wicket, the left-arm pacer angled it away from Gaikwad, as the batter was completely beaten while playing for the incoming delivery.
As a result, the ball went past his outside edge and uprooted his off stump. Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was expected to play a crucial role for Maharashtra, thus got dismissed for another low score in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
