India’s left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has continued to prove himself as one of the most reliable bowlers in international cricket in the shortest format of the game. Since his debut in July 2022, Arshdeep has become an integral part of India’s T20I squad. His remarkable consistency was on display during the first T20I match against England at Eden Gardens.

In the first T20I, the ace pacer took two wickets and conceded 17 runs in four overs. He also surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal and became India’s all-time leading wicket-taker in T20I cricket. Talking about his overall T20I stats, the 25-year-old has played 61 matches for India in T20Is and scalped 97 wickets at an impressive average of 17.91.

Arshdeep Singh To Break Haris Rauf's Unique Record

Having said all this, it is important to mention that as Arshdeep Singh takes the field in the second T20I against England on Saturday (January 25), the Punjab player will be chasing another historic milestone.

He needs just three wickets to become the fastest fast bowler in the world to claim 100 T20I wickets. Currently, the record is held by Haris Rauf, who have achieved this milestone in 71 matches.

If successful, Arshdeep will also join an elite group of bowlers to reach the 100-wicket mark in record time. Only Rashid Khan (53 matches) and Sandeep Lamichhane (54 matches) have done it faster. Arshdeep could also overtake Wanindu Hasaranga, who reached the milestone in 63 matches. But among the pacers Arshdeep Singh will surpass Haris Rauf's record.
