'Appeal To Remove Arshdeep Singh From WC': Fans Unhappy With Pacer's 50 Run Spell Vs CSK

Just a day after getting selected in India’s T20 World Cup squad, PBKS’ Arshdeep Singh went for 52 runs in 4 overs against CSK on a pitch where the batters struggled to put a competitive total on board, and the fans were naturally unhappy with the pacer’s form.

PBKS bowled first against CSK earlier today in Chennai, and it proved to be a wise decision as the hosts struggled with the bat on Chepauk’s slow surface. 

Only captain Ruturaj Gaikwad prevailed against the odds to score a half-century as CSK finished with 162 runs by the end of the first 20 overs of play.

That being said, on a pitch where the batters had a nightmare outing, PBKS’ frontline bowler Arshdeep Singh still ended up on the receiving end as he gave up 52 runs in his 4 overs spell. His economy of 13.00 was highest amongst the PBSK bowlers. 

Interestingly, Arshdeep Singh was picked up as India’s frontline fast bowler in the final 15-man squad alongside Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj for the upcoming mega T20 World Cup event.

Hence, his abysmal performance and lack of efforts on a bowler friendly wicket left fans puzzled as well as concerned. Many questioned his selection and some even trolled him for giving freebies to CSK legend MS Dhoni.

Arshdeep Singh has been on and off the national team since making a debut in 2022. However, with Mohammad Shami down with a heel injury, India were short on fast bowling options and hence turned to Arshdeep.

But the left arm pacer’s questionable form in IPL 2024 season will surely leave the fans concerned as the T20 World Cup inches closer.
