Anil Kumble Predicts India's Margin Of Victory Over England; Here's His Forecast

The highly-anticipated five-Test series between India and England gets underway today, with the first encounter taking place in Hyderabad.

Former India captain and coach Anil Kumble, much like other pundits has stated that India will win the series over England by a massive 4-1 margin, which is different from others who predict that Rohit Sharma and Co. will inflict a whitewash.

India are chasing a record-extending 17th series win at home, which started in 2013 after England handed the home a 2-1 loss in Tests in the 2012-13 tour. Speaking to Jio Cinema, Kumble explained his reasoning for why India would win four and England one, which has more to do with the approach both teams play Test cricket with than anything else.

"I'm not a guy with a crystal ball, but I can certainly see India winning the series. I am thinking all five Tests would provide results because of the approach that these two teams have towards Test cricket. Unless and until the weather intervenes, all five Test matches would have results. I would give one to England and four to India," Kumble said.

England in their last two Test series in India were handed a 4-0, and 3-1 drubbing in 2016, and 2020-21, respectively.

As of writing, the first Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium sees England batting first after skipper Ben Stokes won the toss.
