In a massive setback for West Indies, experienced all-rounder Andre Russell has been sidelined from the remainder of the England T20Is on home soil. Led by Rovman Powell, West Indies have lost two consecutive matches in the series and will face the in-form Englishmen in the upcoming three games in Saint Lucia. 

Ankle Injury Sidelines Russell From England T20Is

However, the hosts have suffered a huge setback before the all-important third game in St Lucia, with an ankle injury ruling Andre Russell out of the series. According to Cricket West Indies' press release, Russell has been sidelined from the last three matches due to a left ankle sprain. 

It's worth mentioning that Russell's career has been frequently marred by injuries, with the all-rounder missing out on several key assignments due to fitness issues. Promising seam-bowling all-rounder Shamar Springer will replace the T20 giant in the Windies squad. 

Alzarri Joseph Returns After Serving A Two-Match Suspension

In another noteworthy development, ace speedster Alzarri Joseph has marked his international comeback after serving a two-match suspension, which Cricket West Indies imposed on him following his controversial heated exchange with Shai Hope in the third ODI against England. The right-arm pacer replaces Shamar Joseph, who went wicketless and conceded 45 runs in his three-over spell in the first T20I at Kensington Oval.
