The Indian Premier League is among the biggest breeding grounds for cricketing talents worldwide. There have been some wonderful stories of youngsters making it big through the league or veterans reviving their careers. However, it also disappoints some players when they fail to earn an IPL contract during an auction.

Some of the best talents in the world of cricket have served the league. However, to make room for newer talents and because teams are looking for players who suit their scheme of things, some of the reputed names have gone unsold in the auctions. Here are three Indian pace bowlers who might be unsold during the IPL 2025 mega auction -

1. Umran Malik

The young Indian pacer created great hype with his raw during IPL 2022. Umran Malik’s brilliant displays earned him an India call-up very soon. However, his lack of discipline in his bowling and injuries plagued his career. From being an overnight sensation, Umran Malik gradually faded away from the limelight.

Malik represented Sunrisers Hyderabad from IPL 2021-2025. During these four seasons, he played 26 matches and took 29 wickets. While his pace earned him accolades, his lack of discipline is evident in his economy rate of 9.40 in his IPL career. Considering his injury proneness and lack of discipline, the IPL franchises might not buy Umran Malik.

2. Umesh Yadav

Although Umesh Yadav has done a decent job for the franchises he has played in, his recent form goes against him. He has picked up only nine wickets in 15 matches in the last two seasons. His economy in these two seasons has also been nearly 10. So, given the form and phase of the career Umesh Yadav is going through, there is a chance that the IPL franchises will ignore him during the IPL 2025 mega auction.

3. Ishant Sharma
