As the T20 cricket is taking up the global stage, another thrilling tournament is on the way. This time, fans in India will witness the excitement of a high-stakes women’s T20 championship right on home soil.

The Andhra Cricket Association is gearing up to launch an IPL-style T20 league for women, ushering in a new era for women’s cricket.

ACA To Unveil IPL-Style Women’s T20 League

As the cricket world is vibing with the T20 thrills, fresh T20 leagues are boosting the excitement to a new level. Another thrilling T20 league is coming up to excite the Indian fans as the Andhra Cricket Association is set to unveil a brand new T20 league for Women’s cricket.

The cricket body has decided to unveil the IPL-style Women’s T20 league at their Annual General Meeting on June 8. Although the Andhra Women’s T20 League was discontinued last year, this new tournament aims to revive the excitement.

In the coming days, the ACA plans to establish a dedicated committee to oversee and develop the game. They are set to have a women-driven selection committee. As the other states have also started their own women’s T20 league, Andhra Pradesh is the latest inclusion in the list.

What’s The Vision Behind The Initiative?

While talking to Cricbuzz, one of the Andhra Cricket Association officials reflects on the vision behind this initiative. He explained that the main goal is to elevate the state's women’s cricket and bring it to the forefront.

“The decision is a testimony of ACA's focus for women's cricket in the state. Our president, Kesineni Sivanath (a Lok Sabha member from Vijayawada) and secretary S Satish (a Rajya Sabha member) are clear about their vision for women's cricket,” the official said.

As per the reports, six teams are set to feature in the upcoming tournament and are set to go on stage in August. Fans are eagerly waiting for some exciting T20 thrills in women’s cricket.
