After 18 long years, West Indies are heading back to Pakistan for a two-match Test series. Cricket West Indies has announced a solid 15-member squad for the series, set to run from January 17–29, 2025, at the Multan Cricket Stadium.

This is the final leg of the current World Test Championship, and both teams will be looking to end their campaigns on a high.

Amir Jangoo Included As Kraigg Brathwaite To Lead West Indies Vs Pakistan

The big news is Amir Jangoo making it to the Test squad. The 27-year-old left-hander has been on fire lately. His unbeaten 104 on ODI debut against Bangladesh made the cricketing world take note of him, and his consistent performances in regional cricket earned him this spot. Jangoo will be eager to show he’s not just a one-hit wonder.

Spinner Gudakesh Motie is set to make a comeback after missing the Bangladesh Test series due to injury. His inclusion is a big boost for the Windies. With subcontinent pitches favouring spin, Motie’s skills will be crucial, especially with his ability to tie batters down and take wickets when it matters.

There are a few notable names missing from the West Indies squad. Shamar Joseph is still recovering from injury, while Alzarri Joseph is unavailable due to other commitments. Their absence leaves some big shoes to fill but the Windies have enough firepower to step up.

The Windies will leave the Caribbean on January 2 and touch down in Islamabad on January 6. This gives them a solid 10 days to adjust to the conditions and prepare for the first Test on January 17 in Multan and second on January 25.
