CAB President confirms Eden Gardens as KKR’s IPL 2025 ground
While speaking with RevSportz, CAB President Snehasish Ganguly revealed that he read an unconfirmed report that stated about KKR’s IPL 2025 home matches being shifted to a new stadium as the Eden Gardens is undergoing renovations.
Ganguly denied the rumors and claimed that fans in Kolkata do not want to leave Eden Gardens and the iconic stadium is even lined-up to organize the opening ceremony and the finals of the IPL 2025 season. He further stated that Eden Gardens has witnessed packed crowds even during KKR’s ‘bad days’, thus signifying the value of their home ground for local fans of the franchise in Kolkata.
Moreover, he added that there are no plans to conduct any renovation at the Eden Gardens as of now.
The KKR franchise won the IPL 2024 season earlier this year and will enter IPL 2025 as defending champions, a tag they will be claiming for the first time after 10 years. In a one-sided final, Shreyas Iyer and co. pummeled a high-flying SRH unit by eight wickets in Chennai.
On October 31, the KKR management confirmed that they have retained six players for IPL 2025, namely Rinku Singh, Varun Chakravarthy , rising star Harshit Rana, Ramandeep Singh and West Indies all-round powerhouses Sunil Narine and Andre Russell. The franchise will now head into the IPL 2025 mega auction later this month with a purse of Rs. 51 crore.
