The much-awaited India vs Pakistan World Cup 2023 clash is set to become an expensive affair for fans willing to attend the cricketing spectacle in Ahmedabad. Not long ago, reports emerged that numerous hotels around the Narendra Modi Stadium had increased their fares in lieu of the increasing demand for the blockbuster game.
It appears that the fans’ wallets are about to take a heftier toll, as latest reports indicate that airlines have also sky rocketed their prices for travelling flights to Ahmedabad around match day.
Airfares increased by 415 percent for India vs Pakistan match
As reported last month, numerous hotels and other accommodation services around Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium have been either completely booked, or they are offering their remaining rooms at premium rates for weekend’s (October 13 to October 16) India vs Pakistan cricketing carnival.
It appears that the situation is also the same for Ahmedabad’s inbound flights from various parts of the country around the same dates, considering the high demand for the much-anticipated World Cup 2023 affair.
As over 100 thousand fans brace themselves to witness the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam among other Indian and Pakistani superstars on the field, scores of them might have to shell out tremendous amounts for flights to Ahmedabad, in case they have not booked their seats well in advance already.
Stated by TOI, the airfare for flights to Ahmedabad ranged from a reasonable ₹5,500 to ₹12,000 if they were booked well in advance. However, the same prices have now skyrocketed by anywhere between 104 percent to a staggering 415 percent, depending upon the departure city within India.
The match itself is slated to be played on October 14 and marks the third World Cup 2023 fixture for both sides in the tournament.
The two titans recently crossed paths at the 2023 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, where the ‘Men in Blue’ emerged victorious in a lop-sided affair.
