With the Champions Trophy concluding, the focus now shifts to the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where ten teams will battle for the prestigious title. The tournament opener promises to be a blockbuster as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on March 22, 2025. 

RCB, starting as underdogs, will look to begin their campaign on a strong note. While the team boasts a well-rounded squad, three players are expected to be major crowd-pullers for IPL 2025.

When it comes to RCB, Virat Kohli is synonymous with the franchise. The legendary batter has an unmatched fan following, making him one of the biggest attractions of IPL 2025. He has played 252 matches for RCB and has made 8,004 runs, and having said that it would not be wrong to say that Kohli is the backbone of the team.  

Despite stepping down from captaincy, Kohli’s presence on the field is enough to electrify stadiums, and fans across the country will eagerly await his return in the RCB jersey.  

2.  Rajat Patidar

A new era begins for RCB as Rajat Patidar takes over as captain for IPL 2025. The 31-year-old will replace Faf du Plessis, who was released ahead of the season. Patidar has been in decent for in IPL 2024 for RCB, scoring 395 runs at a blistering strike rate of 177.13. 

His fearless batting, coupled with the added responsibility of leadership, makes him a player to watch. With expectations running high, fans will flock to see how the new skipper steers RCB towards their maiden IPL title.  

3. Bhuvneshwar Kumar

A familiar face returns to Bengaluru, but this time as the team’s lead pacer. Veteran Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was part of RCB in 2009, is set to make his long-awaited debut for the franchise.  

With years of IPL experience and a proven track record as a swing specialist, Bhuvneshwar’s return will add depth to RCB’s bowling attack. His ability to deliver under pressure will be crucial, and fans are expected to welcome him with open arms as he dons the RCB colours once again.
