Almost three months ago on October 1, Rohit Sharma and Team India were a happy Test unit as they had just defeated the Bangladesh team in one of the most interesting Test matches witnessed on Indian soil.

India and Bangladesh collided in Kanpur in the second match of the series and India's WTC finale place was at stake. Unfortunately, the first 3.5 days were washed out due to relentless rain and poor drainage system at the Kanpur Stadium, which meant that only 1.5 days was left to produce a miraculous result.

Bangladesh, after batting first scored 233 runs, with Mominul Haque top-scoring with 107 runs. In reply, Indian batters led by Rohit, showed their Bazball approach as the team batted with aggression and posted 285/9 inside 35 overs,

In reply, the visitors were dismissed for 146 as India needed 95 runs to win and they achieved the target with utmost ease. This was the last time Rohit Sharma won a Test match as the captain, and since then, he has lost 5 Tests out of the 6 played.

Rohit Sharma to take retirement call soon

As per TOI, there is a good chance that Rohit Sharma will take retirement after the Sydney Test match. As per the reports, if India do not qualify for the WTC finals, which they perhaps won't, then Rohit will call curtains on his Test career after SCG.

The team came to the MCG Test with the series evenly poised at 1:1. However, the visitors produced a shambolic performance as India were outplayed in a one-sided affair and they lost the Test by 184 runs.
