India have switched the Test mode on as the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 is just around the corner. The Indian squad has already begun their preparations, and the onus will be on their best batter, Virat Kohli, to deliver on the biggest stage to help India clinch their first ICC trophy in 10 years.

With Kohli returning to his vintage best after an exile of three years, the Indian batting gets solidified; however, the modern maestro's stats do not justify his greatness. Keeping aside the 2018 tour, the prolific right-handed batter hasn't had the best of times in England, which his average of 33.32 points out.

Meanwhile, his numbers at the Oval aren't blossoming as Kohli has scored just one Test fifty at the venue, amassing a mere 169 runs in six innings at an average of 28.17.

Kohli's numbers at the Oval

Matches/ Innings - 3/6
Runs - 169
Highest Score - 50
Average - 28.17
50s/100s - 1/0

Kohli's numbers in England

Matches/ Innings - 16/31
Runs - 1033
Highest Score - 149
Average - 33.32
50s/100s - 5/2

Kohli's numbers vs Australia

Matches/ Innings - 24/42
Runs - 1979
Highest Score -186

50s/100s - 5/8

As the conditions have been at the Oval this summer, the 34-year-old could slam his first Test century at the venue, as the conditions would ease down against the semi-new ball. Having said that, one can't predict the conditions in England.
