Team India is all set to take on the Australia in the finals of the World Test Championship at the iconic Oval Stadium from June 7.

Both India and Australia have been the best teams in the last WTC cycle and have deservingly booked their place in the finals.

The last time India played in the WTC final, Virat Kohli was the supreme leader, and unfortunately the team lost against a spirited New Zealand team in 2021. However, this time the mantle is with Rohit Sharma, as he vows to capture his maiden ICC trophy as the skipper of India.

A late bloomer in Test cricket, Rohit has a phenomenal record at the Oval cricket ground. One of the pillars of the Indian batting lineup, India need Rohit to be at his absolute best against a potent bowling attack of Australia.

The Indian captain has only played a solitary Test match at the Oval, and went onto score a magnificent century against the likes of Anderson, Robinson, Woakes and Overton.

He scored a brilliant 127 that set the tone for a famous Indian win, and helped India took a 2-1 lead in the series.

In the combined two innings in that Test match, Rohit registered 138 runs, at an average of 69.

With the Oval set to host the WTC final next month, Indian fans will hope that Rohit once again scores truckloads of runs in the all-important finale.
